Tab Nap is a Chrome extension that automatically suspends inactive tabs to reduce memory usage. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

DATA WE COLLECT Tab Nap does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or browsing data. The developer has no access to any information about you or your browsing.

HOW THE EXTENSION WORKS To do its job, Tab Nap looks at basic tab state in your browser: whether a tab is pinned, playing audio, active, already suspended, and when it was last used. It also reads tab URLs, only to avoid suspending internal browser pages such as chrome://. This happens entirely on your device. This information is never recorded, logged, or sent anywhere.

Tab Nap does not read the content of web pages, inject scripts into pages, or track your browsing history.

SETTINGS STORAGE Tab Nap saves your preferences (whether auto-suspend is on, the inactivity delay, and which tab types are protected) using Chrome's built-in storage. If you are signed in to Chrome with sync enabled, Chrome may sync these settings across your devices through your Google account. This is handled by Chrome and Google, not by Tab Nap or its developer. Settings contain no personal or browsing data.

THIRD PARTIES Tab Nap does not use analytics, advertising, or any third-party services. The extension contains an optional "Buy me a coffee" link that opens the developer's Ko-fi page (ko-fi.com) in a new tab. This happens only if you click the link. Ko-fi's own privacy policy applies to that site.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "Last updated" date.
